Kirsten Simone Vangsness is an American actress and playwright who became famous by playing 'Penelope Garcia' in the crime procedural police drama television series 'Criminal Minds'. Kirsten vangsness also appeared in two spin-offs of the series "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" as well as "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior". While she is primarily an actress for TV however, she has had a few small roles in film since making her first appearance in the show business in the year 1998. The notable roles she has played within the film industry include her roles in 'In My Dream", 'The Chicago Eight', and Kill Me Deadly. Alongside writing articles for 'The Los Angeles Times', she's also the co-writer of three episodes for Criminal Minds. Her passion is rescuing and rehabilitation of abandoned or injured cats.
